Legends Never Die – After more than 20 years, FATAL FURY / GAROU is coming back…
DLC Team AWAKENED OROCHI is coming to THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV on August 8th, 2022 at 12 AM PDT; DLC Team SAMURAI announced a fall release.
SNK CORPORATION is pleased to announce that a new game in the FATAL FURY/GAROU series, a franchise that can be called the starting point of SNK’s long history of fighting games, is currently in development.
SNK’s popular FATAL FURY fighting game series, which spearheaded the fighting game boom in the 90s with its release in 1991, the last of which was GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES way back in 1999, will receive a new installment. The teaser art for the new game was unveiled today. FATAL FURY / GAROU will mark a new turning point in the history of fighting games, so fans can look forward to the continuation of this legendary series.
Other SNK news: King of Fighters XV Update
Additionally, SNK launched a new team of DLC characters for KOF XV today. OROCHI YASHIRO, OROCHI SHERMIE, and OROCHI CHRIS are three characters who worked in the shadows to revive Orochi in KOF ’97. Now they are back to form Team AWAKENED OROCHI and are coming to KOF XV.
This team is not the only addition to the KOF XV roster that was announced today, however. Team SAMURAI will join the game in fall 2022. HAOHMARU, NAKORURU, and DARLI DAGGER from SNK’s popular fighting game SAMURAI SHODOWN are coming to KOF XV.
The next season of KOF XV DLC starts in 2023. Classic SNK fan-favorites SHINGO YABUKI and KIM KAPHWAN have been announced, with plans for long-awaited crossplay on the way. DLC characters for KOF XV include 7 currently available characters, 8 previously announced characters, as well as unannounced characters from the NEXT SEASON, for a total of over 15 planned characters. Together with the 39 playable characters in the main game, a total of 54 characters will be available in KOF XV.
