The Climb Now Available on Oculus Rift

Posted by Oculus VR

Brace yourself for death-defying leaps and jaw-dropping vistas in The Climb, available today from Crytek and Oculus Studios. Experience the white-knuckle rush of scaling new heights as you take on a variety of challenges set in locations around the world. The Climb is the world’s first VR rock climbing game. Currently playable with the Xbox controller, it’ll include a free update for full Touch support later this year.

Made for Oculus and powered by CRYENGINE, The Climb’s incredible graphic fidelity renders realistic environments in the Alps, Southeast Asia, and the American Southwest. Navigate through stunning landscapes with intuitive controls and take in the 360 degree vastness as you survey your route and find the next handhold.

Train, Compete, Overcome
With a variety of modes to master, The Climb takes you from the safe starter courses of basic training to challenging ascents. The tougher climbs rate you on performance with variables like time, technique, restarts, and overall flow. Compare your results with friends on the leaderboards and work your way up to compete among the best.

Race Against Your Friends’ Routes

Finally, for the ultimate thrill seeker, the Free Solo Mode takes away all safety ropes and presents you with the most difficult routes. The chance of peril is high and only the best will succeed.

The Climb offers something for everyone (even if you’re afraid of heights), and is made possible only through the magic of VR.

We’ll see you at the top.
