NetEase Games, the online games division of NetEase, Inc., has announced that Vikingard, the popular casual simulation RPG for Android and iOS devices, will be hosting its third crossover event with MGM’s hit show Vikings. This collaboration will bring new and returning heroes into the game, along with special events and exclusive rewards. The previous two collaborations between Vikings and Vikingard have been highly successful, and the upcoming event in July 2023 will present the final chapter of their epic storyline, inviting players to join in this ultimate celebration of both franchises.
The World of Vikingard
Vikingard is an exciting casual simulation RPG where players assume the role of the ruler of the Fharun tribe of Vikings. Their mission is to lead the Fharun Hersir warriors on a journey to distant lands in search of glory and loot. Players engage in battles, explore new realms, and govern their people with wisdom and courage. Since its launch in 2022, Vikingard has provided players with the opportunity to experience the events of the award-winning TV series Vikings and fight alongside their favorite characters.
Uniting the Norse Warriors
The third and final crossover event between Vikings and Vikingard will commence in July 2023, continuing the saga of the Vikings in the game. Players will witness the resolution of Ragnar’s blood debt and the acclaim of a king who surpasses all others, rallying all Vikings to unite against their common enemies. The event introduces new Viking heroes, Ivar and Torvi, brought to life with stunning character artwork. Players will have the chance to explore their stories and fight alongside them. Additionally, the heroes from the previous crossovers, including Rollo, Lagertha, and Bjorn, will return, enabling players to recruit all nine characters from the TV series for their Vikingard tribe.
The Final War: The Kattegat Civil War
In the new Vikings crossover with Vikingard, players will partake in “The Final War,” known as the Kattegat Civil War. Konungrs, or kings, must build their armies and compete for the right to become the ultimate king above all others. This event will feature a war spanning four pitched battles, with the victor of each conflict advancing to more challenging battles at higher levels. The last champion standing will be crowned the King of Kattegat. By participating in the event, players can earn daily rewards and exclusive in-game prizes, including a new Hersir Avatar, App Icon, and Avatar Border.
Exciting Activities Beyond Battle
The Vikingard crossover with Vikings offers more than just intense battles. Players can engage in other exciting activities within the game, such as the Snow Mountain Trail. Set in the frozen Jötunheimr, this trail allows players to enhance their gear at Dvergr’s Forge and conquer the Jötnar trolls that stand in their way. Another thrilling event, “Mjölnir Awakens,” presents the opportunity to recover Thor’s legendary hammer, which has fallen to Earth and lost its power. Gathering the hammer’s lost energy will enable Konungrs to call upon Thor’s aid and summon the heroes of Vikings, including the new mature look for Floki in his “Forever King” guise as he battles alongside Ragnar in Valhalla.
A Climactic Struggle
As the epic story of Vikings reaches its conclusion, Vikingard players can embark on their longboats, set sail, and participate in the climactic struggle themselves. The Kattegat War storyline takes center stage as all contenders fight to claim the crown. The latest crossover event represents the combined visions of MGM and Vikingard, introducing brand-new content that builds upon everything released in the game thus far. This expansion of the Viking legend extends beyond the realm of Midgard, offering players an unforgettable experience filled with action, intrigue, and adventure.
