VR Train Journey and Colorful Island Adventure w/Flight School

Award-winning new media creative studio Flight School will be at PAX South, bringing two of its original VR projects for demonstration on the expo floor, including an exclusive first look at their latest VR game, Island Time. The VR game finds players shipwrecked on a tiny island and forces them to use their wit, ingenuity and the advice of a new buddy, Carl the Crab, to keep themselves from starving and survive as long as possible. The vibrant animated VR game challenges players to survive this room-scale VR experience while tapping into the island’s resources to defend themselves and stay alive as long as possible. Island Time is slated for public launch in early 2018.

Flight School will also be demo’ing their debut original VR experience Manifest 99, which strikes a more earnest tone, taking players on an ominous and eerie story about finding redemption in the afterlife. Set on a mysterious train inhabited by a murder of crows, you assist four travel companions on a journey to their final destination. Manifest 99 is a virtual reality experience played without a controller: you gaze into the eyes of the crows to move to their perch, viewing the world from their scale and perspective. By discovering the items left behind by your travel companions, you uncover the reason why they—and you—are on this train into the great beyond.

Manifest 99 has earned media acclaim and industry accolades since its launch in September 2017, including awards from the Raindance Film Festival and Future of Storytelling Festival. The story-driven, interactive experience is slated for mobile launch in early 2018.
