XPG Pylon Bronze 469W Power Supply Unit Review

Summary
XPG introduces the Pylon Bronze power supply unit which complies with the Intel ATX power supply design. The XPG Pylon Bronze 650W PSU features a DC-to-DC circuit design, 80 plus bronze certification, main Japanese capacitor, and 8 industrial protections prices at $59.99. A sleek black metal shell with custom-cut triangular ventilation holes featuring a logo etched into the top section. Unfortunately, it does not feature any RGB lighting, but it makes up for what it lacks in RGB by providing solid performance. It would also be nice to see modular cables, but we can’t have it all. A solid foundation to build on for entry to mid-level gaming rig in todays time.

XPG product design has been consistently good in recent years. Their Pylon Bronze 650W PSU doesn’t fall too far from the tree. A sleek black metal shell with custom-cut triangular ventilation holes featuring a logo etched into its top section. This specific model design-wise has been kept simple to keep the price down under the $60 mark. Unfortunately, it does not feature any RGB lighting, but it makes up for what it lacks in RGB by providing great performance. It would also be nice to see modular cables, but we can’t have it all.

The Pylon PSU series comes in 4 available wattage options including 450w, 550w, 650w, and 750w. Its 80 Plus Bronze certification provides energy efficiency at 20%, 50%, and 100% of the rated load in compliance with ErP 2014 Lot 3 Regulations. DC-to-DC Converters solidify its ability to deliver consistent power. It’s ready to be used 24 hours a day quietly due to the dynamic bearing 120mm FDB Fan. Temperatures at full load remain under the 42 degrees Celsius mark which is phenomenal. The Pylon Series also features a durable Main Japanese capacitor that provides top-notch stability and reliability. You will not find many, if any, PSU’s that will perform at this high of a level around the Pylon Series price range.

XPG products have really been growing on me. It’s nice to see a company that is trying to create performance products at reasonable prices. At 650w this PSU will be able to power graphics cards like the Nvidia RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT, and most other cards around these power consumption specifications. XPG backs their Pylon Series PSUs with a 3-year warranty which is right in the middle of the road compared to other companies. A solid foundation to build on for entry to mid-level gaming rig in today’s time.
