Dark Protocol Event: What’s the Hype?
Time to lock and load, gamers! Battlefield 2042’s Season 6: Dark Creations is popping off with a fresh in-game event called Dark Protocol. The event kicks off on October 31 and wraps up on November 14. The stage for this showdown is the Boreas facility in the Hebrides, where things have gone sideways—the AI tech has unleashed Geists, which are AI-controlled synthetic soldiers. Here’s what you need to know about the limited-time mode, Killswitch.
The Objective in Killswitch: Defend, Synthesize, and Survive
Killswitch is a 12v12 mode set across various maps like Redacted, Manifest, Hourglass, and Spearhead. The objective is simple—take control of specific areas and print up to 40 Geists to help your squad. These Geists will help secure nodes and throw down against the opposition. But beware, the combat zones are tight and exposed, so you’ll need all your gaming skills and teamwork to keep the area locked down.
How to Secure Nodes
Players need to enter and hold AOS nodes around the map. The first team to capture and hold the nodes will score a point, bringing them one step closer to victory. Each node activates one at a time and doesn’t have capture speed multipliers, so even a lone player can make progress.
Synthesize to Amplify
But the nodes aren’t your only mission. The Forge is also online and spits out a wave of Geists every few seconds. Use these AI allies to bolster your position or stage ambushes against enemy players.
Survival Tactics
Hold your captured node against incoming enemies, both human and AI. The first squad to rack up 5 points wins the round. Every node you secure adds a point to your team’s tally, so keep those nodes locked down.
Geists: More than Just Cannon Fodder
These AI-generated Geists aren’t just there for show; they’re essential to flipping the tables on the enemy. Once the Forge is active, Geists will spawn in waves, irrespective of who controls the Forge. Time your takeover well, and you can switch the allegiance of a Geist wave to your side.
Fresh Loot in Dark Protocol
Earning your stripes in Killswitch will unlock unique gameplay rewards available during the event. Get your hands on Ribbons by taking part in the event and use Battlefield Coins for new store bundles like “No Antidote” and “Hot Spot”.
No Pay-to-Win, Just Pure Skill
While there are purchasable store bundles available, they’re all about aesthetics, not game-changing abilities. So, gear up with new skins, weapon charms, and player card tags, but remember—victory still boils down to skill and strategy.
Mark the Calendar for Dark Protocol
Dark Protocol is a limited-time event running from October 31 to November 14. Don’t miss out on this unique blend of close-quarters combat and strategic objectives. So, grab your squad and get ready to shut down the rogue AI in Boreas facility. No cap, FULL SEND, gamers!
