Bitwave’s Classic Shooter Series Continues with an Exciting Second Installment
Bitwave Games, a known player in retro gaming and a component of Embracer Freemode, has recently declared the release of Toaplan Arcade Shoot ‘Em Up Collection Vol.2. The highly anticipated second volume of this classic shooter series will be launched on 24th August. The phrase “die, and the world dies with you!” sets an intriguing tone for this new release.
A Classic Gaming Tribute Continues
Toaplan Arcade Shoot ‘Em Up Collection Vol.2 is Bitwave’s way of appreciating the classic shooter genre and recognizing Toaplan’s noteworthy contributions. Bitwave Games has a roadmap of launching 16 games across four volumes. With the disclosure of volume two, they are almost halfway through their plan. Upholding their commitment to authenticity, Bitwave Games has paid heed to the gaming community to enrich the playing experience.
Partnerships Powering the Release
This next installment of the series benefits from the robust partnership between Bitwave Games and Tatsujin, a Japanese developer. Building on the success of volume one, the new volume will feature popular games like:
- Hellfire – Toaplan’s premier side-scrolling shooter offers vibrant graphics and a rock-heavy soundtrack.
- Flying Shark – Experience Toaplan’s arcade shooter Flying Shark, a thrilling aerial combat game.
- Slap Fight – Dive into Toaplan’s 1986 vertical shooter Slap Fight, known for gauge-based power-ups and strategic gameplay.
- Fire Shark – Gear up for classic shoot-’em-up action as you face off against a powerful military force in Toaplan’s Fire Shark.
Enhanced Gameplay and Experience
Bitwave Games hasn’t just replicated these classic shooters for the new generation of gamers, they’ve also incorporated a variety of improvements. Gamers can expect minimal input lag, pixel-perfect or full-screen scaling, quick save, practice mode, and Steam Achievements. The second volume introduces Mirror Mode for a unique gaming experience. Additional features include emulation and input processing that complete on the same frame, online leaderboards, informative instrument panels, rewind capability, assist features, an easy mode, rotation in 90-degree increments, and a customizable practice mode.
