The demo, which was revealed during the FINAL FANTASY XVI Pre-Launch Celebration in Los Angeles, offers players a chance to experience the opening prologue and a special battle demo, giving them a taste of the epic adventure that awaits them. During the FINAL FANTASY XVI Pre-Launch Celebration, fans and guests were treated to a variety of activities, on-stage announcements, and panels. Producer Naoki Yoshida took the stage to announce the release of the consumer demo, revealing that progress made in the demo will carry over to the full game after its release. Players will have the opportunity to take control of Clive Rosfield, the protagonist of FINAL FANTASY XVI, at the start of his epic tale. They will learn about his ambitions and goals as he embarks on a dark and dangerous path of revenge following a tragic event. Upon completing the prologue, players will have access to a special battle demo, featuring numerous unlocked abilities. This will allow them to engage in exhilarating battles and test out a wide array of devastating attacks and combos.
To get a taste of the action that awaits in FINAL FANTASY XVI, players can download the demo from the PlayStation store. The demo offers a glimpse into the immersive world and captivating gameplay that the game has to offer.
In addition to the demo release, SQUARE ENIX also unveiled a new trailer titled “ASCENSION” during the Pre-Launch Celebration. Accompanied by a moving score composed by the game’s Composer Masayoshi Soken, “Requiem” adds an extra layer of depth and emotion to the FINAL FANTASY XVI experience.
FINAL FANTASY XVI introduces players to an all-new story set in the FINAL FANTASY universe. It takes place in the realm of Valisthea, a land blessed by the light of the Mothercrystals. However, peace in Valisthea is threatened by the spread of the Blight, which endangers the dominions of the land. The fate of Valisthea rests in the hands of the Eikons, mighty summoned beasts, and their Dominants, individuals blessed with the ability to wield their power. The game follows the journey of Clive Rosfield, a warrior who holds the title “First Shield of Rosaria” and is dedicated to protecting his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix, the Eikon of Fire. Clive’s path will be intertwined with a great tragedy, leading him to swear revenge on the enigmatic Dark Eikon known as Ifrit, a malevolent entity that brings calamity wherever it goes.
FINAL FANTASY XVI is rated M (Mature) and will be exclusively available for the PlayStation 5 console starting from June 22nd, 2023. Fans of the franchise can look forward to an immersive and action-packed experience that stays true to the legacy of the FINAL FANTASY series.
