The independent-minded publishing brand, Marvelous USA, Inc., has confirmed that Cuisineer, an upcoming food-focused action roguelite, will be participating in Steam Next Fest. This event, taking place from June 19th – 26th, will feature a brand-new demo of the game, allowing players to get a taste of the culinary adventure that awaits them.
Exploring Diverse Biomes
Cuisineer introduces players to Pom, a young adventurer turned restauranteur, who embarks on a quest to gather ingredients and cook up delicious meals. Pom’s journey takes her through four diverse biomes, each with its own unique challenges and rewards. From marshy swamplands to icy caves, players will need to scour these biomes, navigating through procedurally generated layouts, enemy camps, and native ingredients.
Reviving a Derelict Eatery
The game’s story revolves around Pom’s return to her hometown of Paell, only to discover her parents’ closed restaurant and mounting debts. Determined to revive the family business, Pom sets out to collect ingredients from the surrounding land. Armed with her cooking utensils, she faces off against giant chickens, artillery shrimps, fire-breathing peppers, and other perilous creatures while enjoying boba tea along the way. Players must help Pom cook up a frenzy and transform the dilapidated eatery into a sensational restaurant that would make her parents proud.
Development and Release
Cuisineer is being developed by BattleBrew Productions and will be co-published globally on Windows PC via Steam by Marvelous Europe and XSEED Games. The game is set to release in summer 2023. As of now, Cuisineer has not received an age rating.
