Dragon’s Dogma 2 Gameplay Stream Shut Down on Twitch

Early Gameplay Reveal Leads to Copyright Strike

A Twitch stream featuring early gameplay of Dragon’s Dogma 2 was abruptly terminated after more than four hours of streaming, ahead of its official release date. The streamer, known as JustIchor, claimed to have purchased the game legally from Walmart and insisted they were not violating any laws.

Unexpected Early Access

JustIchor managed to broadcast gameplay of Dragon’s Dogma 2, capturing the attention of nearly a thousand viewers, despite the game’s street date being a week away. The stream continued until it was suddenly cut off by a message indicating copyright removal by the game’s publisher, Capcom.

Legality and Copyright Concerns

The streamer defended their actions by stating they had a legitimate receipt for the game purchase and believed there was no legal issue with their broadcast. They also mentioned using a VPN while streaming, hinting at an attempt to prevent direct tracing of the game’s play to their network. Despite these precautions, the stream was taken down due to copyright enforcement.

Capcom’s Response

While there was no immediate official statement from Capcom regarding the incident, the swift action to remove the content suggests the company is actively monitoring and protecting its intellectual property rights, especially concerning pre-release content of its highly anticipated game, Dragon’s Dogma 2.
