SQUARE ENIX has announced that the FINAL FANTASY® TRADING CARD GAME (FFTCG) has achieved a significant milestone of 20 million packs shipped worldwide. Additionally, the 19th booster set for the game, titled From Nightmares, is now available for purchase. The packaging of From Nightmares features Cloud from FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN. This booster set includes a number of multi-element cards, and for the first time, introduces a card with four elements, providing players with more options for deck construction.
Some of the cards in From Nightmares showcase illustrations by official SQUARE ENIX artists, newly created for FFTCG, featuring characters from classic FINAL FANTASY titles, such as FINAL FANTASY IV, FINAL FANTASY VI, and FINAL FANTASY XI. The inclusion of these new illustrations has been a major attraction for fans of FFTCG, as they showcase beloved characters in a new and exciting way.
From Nightmares highlights original artwork and new illustrations from acclaimed FINAL FANTASY artists, including Rubi Asami (FINAL FANTASY VI), Ryoma Ito (FINAL FANTASY XII / DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY), Akira Oguro (FINAL FANTASY IV), Yukihiro Kajimoto (FINAL FANTASY II), Isamu Kamikokuryo (FINAL FANTASY XIII / FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0), Kumiko Koike (FINAL FANTASY IV), Gen Kobayashi (FINAL FANTASY II), Yusuke Naora (FINAL FANTASY XI), Toshitaka Matsuda (FINAL FANTASY II / FINAL FANTASY XIII), Fumio Minagawa (FINAL FANTASY XI), and Miki Yamashita (FINAL FANTASY I).
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of FINAL FANTASY VII, From Nightmares includes Cloud as its “Special” card. This Full Art Premium Foil card features a gold foil stamp of Tetsuya Nomura’s autograph and gold-stamped text accents. The set’s Buy-a-Box Promo, which comes in each sealed booster display box containing 36 packs, features Yuna and comes as a Full Art Premium Foil card. The frame of a Full Art card is removed to showcase the entire artwork in a stylish design, making it distinct from normal cards.
