New Update Adds Diseases and Enhancements to the Aquarium Experience

In an effort to enrich the aquarium simulation genre, Fish Game, developed by A Shell in the Pit Games in collaboration with Creative Ink and development partner Smarter Every Day, has launched its latest update titled “Get Ich & Die” for PC players on Steam. Known for their audio work in titles like Untitled Goose Game, Cozy Grove, and Rogue Legacy, the team now ventures into blending gaming with educational aspects of fish care.

Update Features: Disease Management and More

The “Get Ich & Die” update introduces a new layer of complexity by integrating diseases into the gameplay. Players are tasked with diagnosing and treating six different fish ailments, including body fungus, fin rot, and the more ominously named popeye. The update challenges players to use medicine to cure bacterial infections and combat parasites, plagues, and pestilences such as velvet, Ich, and hole-in-the-head disease.

In addition to these challenges, the update brings several quality of life improvements aimed at enhancing the player experience. These include cloud saves for game progress, an optimized user interface for easier navigation, and simplified shopping for aquarium plants and hardscapes. The update also features new music tracks to maintain the game’s calming atmosphere.

Building Bonds and Aquascapes

An intriguing aspect of the update is the emphasis on the emotional connection between the player and their aquatic pets. Proper care and attention lead to visibly happier fish, which show their appreciation by following the mouse cursor and greeting the player at the tank’s front. This feature aims to simulate the rewarding experience of real-life pet care within the virtual environment of Fish Game.

The game itself offers a range of activities from managing simple fish tanks to creating intricate aquascapes. Players can delve into the personalities and needs of various fish species through a detailed fish log that tracks each creature’s actions and history.

Availability

Fish Game, along with its “Get Ich & Die” update, is now accessible to PC gamers on Steam. This update marks a significant addition to the game, promising both current fans and new players an enhanced aquatic simulation experience.
