Gen.G’s League of Legends Previews Roster and Team Outlook for 2019 Season

Now that Gen.G’s League of Legends team roster has been set for 2019, team leadership are outlining the vision and strategy for the roster and the positive prospects for this season. Finalized in December, the upcoming LCK season roster leads with the signings of world-class Jungler Han ‘Peanut’ Wang-ho and top laner Kim ‘Roach’ Kang-hee.

“I’m really excited about the team we have put together for 2019. ‘Peanut’ and ‘Roach’ are huge and very much welcomed additions to our team, immediately improving our team and building for success and a winning season. Fly has also been designated team captain as has really stepped up behind the scenes and in matches helping the team come together as they prepare for the season,” said Choi Woo-beom, the manager of Gen.G LoL. “I’d also like to thank all of our departing players for their efforts during their time with Gen.G. We wish them nothing but success moving forward.”

Gen.G’s League of Legends team gave fans and the entire community a preview of what is ahead for 2019 during this year’s KESPA Cup, where they exceeded expectations and placed second.

Choi also had this to say after the recent competition, KESPA Cup, “We worked hard during the off-season period to improve the areas we lacked in 2018 and saw potentials during the KESPA Cup. In 2019, we will put efforts to enjoy practices and show fun plays in midst the tough competition,” and Choi also outlined the team’s ambitions for the year, “Starting from this season, we will grow as a more developed and transformed team with more definite roles and responsibilities: Coach Yeo “TrAce” Chang Dong will take care of the in-game such as pick/ban and Coach Ju “Odin” Young Dal will take care of the psychological training and lifestyle.”

Peanut is a world-class player who has brought League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) tremendous success year after year, and Roach, who comes to Gen.G from Kongdoo Monster, is a player who will immediately add high-quality skill and experience to Gen.G.

They’ll join returning players Lee ‘CuVee’ Seong-jin, Park ‘Ruler’ Jae-hyuk, Song ‘Fly’ Yong-jun, who has been promoted to Team Captain, and Kim ‘Life’ Jeong-min, who have proved their potential with excellent performances during the LCK 2018 season.

Not only do we have a talented group, but since they’ve been practicing in our new HQ, we’re already seeing signs of a new, exciting team chemistry that I think is going to be really special.”

Gen.G is providing its players and teams tremendous support in the form of this groundbreaking training facility. Gen.G LoL’s new additions and returning players can look forward to preparing for the season in one of the industry’s premiere facilities.
