Open Beta With Immersive DualSense Controller Features
The First Descendant’s Crossplay Open Beta will be accessible to PlayStation players from September 19 to September 25. Nexon’s Producer, Beomjun Lee, announces exclusive features for the PlayStation 5 version.
Next-Generation Graphics with Unreal Engine 5
The First Descendant is designed as a third-person looter shooter with high-quality graphics using Unreal Engine 5. With the player taking the role of Descendants, the game pits humanity against alien invaders in an action-packed environment. Improvements have been made on both PlayStation 4 and 5 after last year’s Beta.

4K Resolution and Supported Modes
The PlayStation 5 version supports 4K resolution in-game performance and fidelity mode. Players can experience stunning visuals with HDR support in 4K resolution, coupled with performance mode up to 60 FPS for smooth gameplay. The support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) ensures stable gameplay without frame limitations.
Adaptive Triggers
With the DualSense wireless controller’s adaptive trigger, each weapon class in The First Descendant offers a distinct experience. Different pressure and intensity values for the game’s 11 weapon classes have been set to create a more immersive experience.
Haptic Feedback
The haptic feedback works with character controls and the environment, enhancing the gaming experience in various scenarios, including the use of weapons, boss encounters, and grappling hooks.
3D Audio
PlayStation’s 3D Audio brings the game’s world to life, providing an immersive experience through the sounds of battle, characters, and the environment.
Crossplay Open Beta Announcement
Running from September 19 to September 25, the Crossplay Open Beta will feature 13 characters, missions, nine giant boss raids, enhanced immersive experiences, and never-before-seen cosmetic items. Players can look forward to a wholly revamped character progression system.
