Heads up, G-LYFE Nation! PLAYISM has dropped the deets: the single-player werewolf game GNOSIA is breaking its console exclusivity. Slated for a December 14th, 2023 release, the game will soon be up for grabs on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and the Microsoft Store.

Werewolf In Space: GNOSIA’s Epic Journey

Originally a PS Vita drop in 2019, GNOSIA has made its rounds. It hit the Nintendo Switch in 2020 and found a home on Steam in 2022. The game has received critical acclaim for its unique take on social deduction RPGs. Fans of the original releases can now look forward to experiencing the game on newer platforms.

The Price Point: No Surprises Here

The game will retail at $24.99. Keep in mind that screenshots floating around are from the Steam version; so, some visual elements might differ in the PS/Xbox releases.

Game Mechanics: Loops, Roles, and Cold Sleep

On a spaceship with a crew, a deadly threat called the “Gnosia” lurks, mimicking human crew members while bumping them off one by one. The crew’s survival tactic? Put the most sus among them into “cold sleep.” In GNOSIA, you could be a human rooting out the Gnosia, or a Gnosia trying to outnumber humans. The game progresses in loops, each a mini-game of werewolf lasting around 15 minutes.

Role Allocation: It’s All About the Stats

At the game’s start, roles like “Crew” or “Gnosia” get assigned. Characters interact based on various factors such as role, personality, and level of trust. The game’s depth emerges from these interactions, resulting in dynamic debates and vibrant loops.

Leveling Up: Grind Your Way to Influence

Initial gameplay finds your character lacking in many areas. But each completed loop beefs up your level, giving you points to distribute in charisma and logic. As you level up, your character starts to carry more weight in discussions, allowing you to sway opinions.

Characters and Replayability: No Two Loops Alike

The game offers endless possibilities with its ensemble of characters who can be either allies or foes, depending on the loop. With each game closely tied to the narrative, betrayals and alliances hit you on a personal level, making every playthrough unique.

Exclusive Content: Not This Time

Both the PS/Xbox versions and the previous Nintendo Switch and Steam releases will be content-identical. No exclusive or additional content is in the pipeline for the new platforms.

Last Call: Dive Into the Loop

Ready to get lost in GNOSIA’s mind-bending loops? Mark your calendar for December 14th and prep for a game that mashes roleplaying, simulation, and visual novels into a one-of-a-kind “roguelite visual novel” experience. Whether you’re a gnarly space veteran or a noob trying to survive, GNOSIA has a loop for you.

Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft Windows
