What’s New in Season 5: Reckoning

Get ready to dive into two brand-new Arena maps, Forbidden and Prism. Also making a comeback is Halo 4’s fan-favorite “Extraction” mode. Gear up with the new Bandit Evo rifle and earn Match XP in Custom Games. The season also introduces a revamped 50-level premium Battle Pass for the committed grinders out there.

Firefight: King of the Hill – Coming Soon

Expect more action as Firefight returns with a new spin: Firefight: King of the Hill mode. Stay tuned for details and don’t sleep on this exciting addition.

Forge AI Toolkit Revolutionizes Player Experience

Arguably the most noteworthy addition is the Forge AI Toolkit, allowing players to utilize campaign AI in their custom Forge creations. The toolkit opens up an array of possibilities, from spawning AI to complex node graph control. According to 343 Industries’ Forge Lead Designer Michael Schorr, the toolkit aims to expand wave-based PvE experiences and has the potential for more linear experiences as well.

Campaign AI in Multiplayer

For the first time, campaign AI enemies are now available in multiplayer modes, thanks to the Forge AI Toolkit. Whether you’re enhancing existing creations or starting anew, this feature will undoubtedly amplify your gameplay experiences.

Development Insights

343 Industries has invested approximately 18 months in developing this toolkit. Campaign engineers have contributed to simplifying complicated functions, leading to a seamless integration of more than 100 nodes in Season 5 alone. The toolkit’s functionality includes enabling patrol routes for AI, and spawning AI based on player-triggered events.

Forge Community Momentum

The robust Halo Infinite Forge community has already churned out 27 million custom matches, 2 million user-generated creations, and over 40 user-generated maps added to public matchmaking playlists. With the addition of the Forge AI Toolkit, expect this community to create even more intricate and engaging experiences.

Custom Game XP and Battle Pass Progression

Players can now earn Battle Pass and Operation Pass XP in eligible custom game matches, including Forge creations. If competitive multiplayer isn’t your jam, you can still earn XP by engaging in PvE experiences.

Arena Multiplayer Maps and Modes

Last but not least, Season 5 will include two new Arena multiplayer maps: Forbidden and Prism. A new mode called Extraction is also launching, where teams of four compete to arm and defend extraction sites on the map.
