Electronic Arts Inc. and Ascendant Studios have announced the release of Immortals of Aveum, a single-player, first-person magic shooter, on July 20th, 2023. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through the EA App, Steam, and Epic Games Store. Developed by the new Ascendant Studios, comprised of BAFTA and Game of the Year award-winning industry veterans, Immortals of Aveum is published under the EA Originals label.
Set in a fantasy universe filled with magic, conflict, and on the brink of destruction, Immortals of Aveum introduces players to Jak, a character who joins an elite order of battlemages. Throughout the game, players will master all three colors of magic – blue, green, and red – and defeat enemies using clever chained attacks and well-timed counters. The game blends a modern story within a fantasy setting, featuring memorable characters, fast-paced action, and spell-based combat that challenges typical first-person shooter conventions.
The game’s protagonist, Jak, is an Unforeseen – an individual who unexpectedly manifests magical abilities later in life. Recruited by General Kirkan, Jak joins the Order of the Immortals and is reluctantly pulled into the endless war for control of magic. Immortals of Aveum’s cinematic campaign is brought to life by an exceptionally talented cast, including Darren Barnet as Jak and Gina Torres as General Kirkan.
Immortals of Aveum will be released at $59.99 USD (PC) and $69.99 USD (consoles). Pre-orders are available now and include the Purified Arclight sigil, which boosts the power of Jak’s spells. Players who purchase the Deluxe Edition for $69.99 USD (PC) and $79.99 USD (consoles) will receive additional in-game gear, including a unique sigil, three rings, two bracers, and three totems. EA Play Pro members will have access to the Deluxe edition on the EA App starting on July 20th, 2023.
