Asmodee USA announced today that Julien Sharp, former Head of US Marketing for Games, Plush, and Outdoor at Spin Master, has been appointed as GM / Country Manager, US. Sharp will be based in Minneapolis at Asmodee’s US Distribution offices and will report to Steve Buckmaster, Global Head of Distribution for Asmodee Group.
“I’m thrilled to join the amazing team here, and to work with them to sustain and build Asmodee USA’s market share across all channels,” says Sharp. “I’m also looking forward to working with our internal publishing studios, as well as our growing number of third-party studios, to help get more and more of their wonderful games to consumers.”
Sharp has over 15 years of experience in sales and marketing in the toy and consumer goods industry, with most of that experience focused on board games. Before joining Asmodee, Sharp founded – and eventually sold – Funnybone Toys, a boutique game and gift company. She then worked at What Do You Meme? and Spin Master, where she held leadership roles in sales and marketing, with exposure to both online and offline sales channels. She also expanded international business development at What Do You Meme? by strengthening existing relationships in English-speaking countries and securing foreign-language distribution deals across western Europe.
