NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY WINS BOSTON UPRISING SPRING COLLEGIATE CUP

Northeastern University won the Boston Uprising Spring Collegiate Cup and defended its title after beating the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Boston University Sunday at the Back Bay Events Center.

Northeastern opened the action by beating UMass 2-0 in front of a live audience. In the second semifinal, Boston University bested Emerson 2-1, setting up a matchup with Northeastern with the Collegiate Cup on the line. Northeastern blanked Boston University and won 2-0 in the championship match, earning the title and another trip to the Blizzard Arena in Burbank, Calif. to see the Uprising compete during the 2019 season.

The event was broadcast live on the Uprising’s Twitch channel and featured commentary by Andrew “ZP” Rush and former Uprising player Connor “Avast” Prince. Chris “HuK” Loranger, President of Gaming for The Kraft Group, was also at the event and presented the trophy to Northeastern.

The Spring Collegiate Cup was the second such event hosted by the Boston Uprising after Northeastern won the inaugural tournament in December.
