Paint the Town Red, a hybrid sandbox-roguelike melee brawler developed by South East Games, is set to unleash its intense combat experience in virtual reality (VR) on Steam, PlayStation VR2, and Meta Quest 2 in early 2024. The exciting announcement was made during the recent Upload VR Showcase, generating significant anticipation among fans.
After its highly successful 1.0 release in 2021, Paint the Town Red is now ready to take the thrilling and chaotic gameplay to a whole new level in VR. Players will find themselves immersed in a voxel world, engaging in fast-paced melee combat that results in a crimson explosion of destructible blocks. With over 200 weapons at their disposal, ranging from pool cues and giant ham legs to futuristic firearms and blades, gamers will have countless ways to obliterate enemies and overcome obstacles.
Scenarios mode allows players to embark on epic bar fights across different timelines, battling it out in dynamic sandbox arenas. From rowdy Biker Bars and Discos to old Western Saloons, early ’90s Prisons, and Pirate Coves, each location presents unique challenges as enemies armed with period-accurate weaponry stand in the way.
