SEGA has released new information through the NGS Headline program, shedding light on the upcoming release of PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 NEW GENESIS ver. 2. This free-to-play online action RPG is set to introduce exciting features, collaborations, and updates to enhance the player experience. In this article, we delve into the final details revealed in the NGS Headline, covering the Creative Space, Genesis Points, AC Shop additions, Chapter 6, Portable Holograms, and the introduction of Cel Shading.

Creative Space: Unleash Your Imagination

The Creative Space in PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 NEW GENESIS represents a significant evolution from the Personal Quarters found in the original game. This new feature empowers players to design and edit an entire island that is exclusively theirs. Using Build Parts, which can be adjusted in scale and color, players can freely create building interiors and exteriors. Moreover, players can reshape the island’s terrain, creating mountains, valleys, and other land formations. Collaborative efforts are also possible, allowing players to work together to construct massive buildings.

The Connect System within the Creative Space enables players to link parts, facilitating activities such as opening and closing doors, turning on lights, and designing complex mazes and quiz games. Creations can be saved as Designs, which can then be duplicated, repositioned, and shared with other players. The ability to download and utilize shared Designs promotes a sense of community, while players can explore and incorporate unique creations into their personal spaces. It’s important to note that the availability of Build Parts used in a Design is necessary to reproduce its contents, and there are no costs or rewards associated with downloading Designs.

Genesis Points: Acquire and Customize

With the introduction of NGS ver. 2, a new point system known as Genesis Points (GP) will be introduced. Players can obtain GP from the GP Tree located in the Creative Space, as well as from completing Weekly Tasks and Limited-time Tasks provided by Arche, the ARKS Architectural Researcher. Genesis Points can be used to purchase a variety of Build Parts with interesting functions. For example, players can acquire the ARKS Decoy, allowing them to place a clone of their character, or the IntraSpace Teleporter, enabling quick travel between two locations. Additionally, some furnishings from the original PSO2 will be transformed into Build Parts, expanding the available options. GP can also be exchanged for Augment Capsules, Aegis Integra, Ajax Armor, and other useful items for battles.

AC Shop: Resort Build Parts Pack and Collaborations

The in-game AC Shop will feature the Resort Build Parts Pack, a collection that includes five different types of Build Parts. These parts can be used in the Creative Space to create a luxurious resort-like atmosphere, including a pool and hanging chairs.

Furthermore, players can look forward to a collaboration pack featuring costumes of Sega’s popular Sonic characters and themed Build Parts for the Creative Space. This pack will be available at various stores and in the in-game AC Shop. Additionally, it includes a 15-day Premium Set ticket and other consumable items.

Chapter 6: A New Adventure Awaits

The upcoming Chapter 6, Part 1 of the Main Story promises an exciting continuation of the narrative. Zephetto, the enigmatic character from Leciel, also known as the “floating island,” will reveal previously undisclosed truths. A new threat emerges, prompting Crawford and regional leaders to discuss countermeasures. The protagonist and Aina will embark on new missions to prepare for the upcoming battle. To facilitate a smoother progression through the Main Story, adjustments have been made, eliminating damage attenuation and Battle Power requirements for Story Quests, as well as lowering the level of enemies.

Portable Holograms: Enhance Communication

A new communication feature, Portable Holograms, will make their debut in PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 NEW GENESIS. Players will have the ability to place Holograms throughout each ARKS base and in the open field. Multiple Holograms can be placed simultaneously, although there are cost restrictions. It’s important to note that Holograms automatically disappear when the character moves a certain distance away or when logging out or transferring to another Block.

Players can choose from three types of Holograms: Objects, Effects, and Paint. Paint can be applied to floors and walls, allowing for further customization of the environment. New variations of Holograms will be introduced alongside Emotes, including exclusive options that can be obtained through AC Scratch Ticket prizes. Let your creativity shine by embellishing Planet Halpha with captivating Portable Holograms!

Cel Shading: Personalize Your Character’s Appearance

PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 NEW GENESIS introduces Cel Shading, a new visual feature available in the Options menu and at the Salon. This feature applies to characters, including those who appear in the game’s story. Players can make detailed adjustments such as Outline Emphasis and Shadow Density to personalize their character’s appearance.

It’s important to note that Cel Shading is exclusive to NGS and does not apply to PSO2 Blocks, ensuring a distinct visual experience for players in the new game.

As the release of PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 NEW GENESIS ver. 2 approaches, SEGA has unveiled exciting details through the NGS Headline program. The introduction of the Creative Space brings forth endless possibilities for players to unleash their creativity, allowing them to design and edit their own exclusive island. Genesis Points provide a new way to acquire and customize Build Parts, enhancing the gameplay experience. The AC Shop offers the Resort Build Parts Pack, as well as collaborations featuring Sonic character costumes and themed Build Parts. Chapter 6 of the Main Story promises new adventures and challenges, while Portable Holograms and Cel Shading add visual enhancements and communication features. With these final details unveiled, players can eagerly anticipate the arrival of PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 NEW GENESIS ver. 2 and immerse themselves in its captivating world.
