The 2024 Red Bull Kumite began its journey in mid-January with online regional qualifiers, where players competed for a chance to face the world’s elite. Eight players from five countries emerged victorious, earning their place at the in-person play-in tournament. American player Alan “Nephew” Sun secured his spot in the main event after intense matches, while Kevin “Dual Kevin” Barrios clinched the final spot through the Last Chance Qualifier.

The main event on March 17 brought together 16 top players in a single-elimination bracket, with matches set in a first-to-five format. Notable competitors included the 2023 champion Adel “Big Bird” Anouche and fighting game luminaries like Rob “Broski” Livingston and Lin “Oil King” Li-wei.
