Into the Mines of Moria This October: Exploring and Rebuilding with Friends
Free Range Games, in collaboration with North Beach Games, announced the launch date for The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria. Scheduled for digital release on PlayStation®5 and Windows PC through the Epic Games Store on Oct. 24, Dwarves will make their grand return into the renowned mines. Following the digital launch, a physical release for PS5™ is planned for retail on Dec. 5, with Xbox Series X|S console systems to follow in early 2024. Digital pre-ordering is now available on PC through the Epic Games Store, and the game can be wishlisted on the PlayStation®Store for PS5™.
An Epic Quest in the Fourth Age of Middle-earth
Set in J.R.R. Tolkien’s expansive world during the Fourth Age of Middle-earth, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria guides players on an extraordinary journey to reclaim and revive the Dwarven homeland of Moria. The narrative extends beyond the books, taking players to the depths of the Misty Mountains under the guidance of Lord Gimli Lockbearer. Together with a company of Dwarves, players must retrieve the lost treasures of Moria and restore them to former grandeur.
Customize, Collaborate and Conquer in Procedurally Generated Environments
Players will have the opportunity to craft their custom Dwarf and explore the cavernous mines of Moria, whether alone or with a company of fellow Dwarves online. Procedurally generated environments ensure each delve into the mines is unique, offering endless challenges and opportunities. From crafting resilient armors to wielding finely honed weapons, Dwarves must prepare to face goblins, arachnoids, and other mysterious foes. Discovering the secrets of the Misty Mountains, extracting precious metals, and rekindling long-forgotten forges are all part of the epic quest.
