VestGames, an independent game development company, and Versus Evil, one of the leading independent video game publishers, today announced that their multiplayer social deduction game Eville is now available on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, Steam, The Humble Store, VersusEvil.com and other PC retailers. A 10% launch discount for Xbox and PC will be available for one week.
Complementing the popular social deduction genre with its own blend of murderous intent, deceit, and manipulation, Eville casts players into randomly assigned roles with unique abilities, skills, and advantages as they look to either commit their dastardly deed or avoid becoming the Conspirators’ next victim.
Everyone has a role to play, be that a Smuggler, Thief, Trapper, Detective, or even a Barbarian or Slanderer, it all makes for a colorful mix of possible characters to play, each of which has its own distinct traits and abilities.
Eville is a multiplayer game where intrigue and collaboration go hand in hand and where cunning strategies can be played out. Players can complete quests during the day and set hidden traps to defend themselves during the night hours when they are most vulnerable, it’s all part of the murky goings-on and the murder and mischief that has befallen the once peaceful village of Eville.
Depending on a player’s alignment of Villager or Conspirator, they’ll collectively look to either get to the bottom of the nefarious shenanigans to uncover the real perpetrators, or they’ll need to employ deception to throw everyone else off the scent if they are indeed the culprit.
Players can utilize their character’s abilities and social skills to discover who bumped off their friends, and with Eville’s crafting opportunities, the brewing of weird and wonderful potions can be used to either save others… or poison them. This is a village where even those who have crossed over to the afterlife aren’t silenced forever and where some even talk to the ghosts of the dead!
