Cloud Imperium Games (CIG), the independent studio behind Star Citizen and Squadron 42, is inviting new players to join the Foundation Festival, a month-long event dedicated to strengthening community spirit. The festival will run from July 6th to July 31st, offering various exciting programs and rewards.
A New Kind of Independent Studio
CIG, founded in 2012 by renowned game developer Chris Roberts, is committed to delivering AAA games outside the traditional publisher system. With a focus on inclusivity and community engagement, CIG grants ongoing access to their games in active development, providing players with unparalleled visibility and involvement.
The Foundation Festival Returns
Star Citizen’s Foundation Festival is back, bringing a range of activities and rewards for players. One of the highlights is the Guide System, an industry-leading program that connects veteran pilots with newcomers to enhance their experience in the vast Star Citizen universe. The Guide System covers 12 core topics, including vehicle combat, mining, trading, and racing. By participating in Guided Sessions, new players receive weapons and a Multi-tool set, while veteran players earn pilot cosmetics. During bonus weekends, players can also earn up to five unique sets of armor and weapons valued at over $80.
Enhanced New Player Experience and Referral Rewards
To enhance the new player experience, CIG has updated the content available in Area18, providing a more engaging introduction to the game. Additionally, players can take advantage of discounted starter packs, making it easier for newcomers to dive into the Star Citizen universe.
Referral rewards have also been revamped, incentivizing existing players to bring in their friends. By referring new players, existing players can earn rewards based on their friends’ progress and engagement.
Free Fly Event: July 6th-17th
From July 6th to July 17th, Star Citizen is hosting a Free Fly event, granting access to 12 ships. This provides an opportunity for players to explore the game and its mechanics, getting a taste of the vast possibilities offered by Star Citizen’s immersive gameplay.
