Go anywhere, with anyone. The Elder Scrolls Online already offers extraordinary freedom, allowing adventurers to become who they want, play how they want, and travel where they want in this multiplayer online game. But now, with today’s One Tamriel free update, players can do even more.
Launching today on PC (and on October 18 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4), One Tamriel gives players more by removing many of the restrictions common to multiplayer online games. For starters, alliance restrictions (outside of PvP) will be no more. That means players can group up with anyone in ESO, no matter their allegiance. Likewise, Guilds can now assemble more diverse groups for their adventures. In short, it’s now even easier to find a pick-up group when heading out on a quest, exploring a dungeon, or taking on a trial.
One Tamriel also opens up the world by level-scaling the environment. For veteran players, that means you can now travel with a friend who just joined the game – without having to create a lower-level character. And for new players, once you emerge from the tutorial, you’ll be able to explore the entire world in any sequence you like. As you wander through Tamriel, you’ll always find content that’s at your appropriate level, and any player can join you on your journey. So whether you’re on the Gold Coast or in Shadowfen, you’ll be able to do what you want, with whomever you want, whenever you want.

Dueling, Dungeons, Loot & More
The free One Tamriel update also comes with a host of additional updates and improvements, including:
- Players can now battle each other anywhere outside Cyrodiil to test their skills and builds and claim bragging rights as the toughest adventurer.
- Zone Overhaul. All zones have been redesigned for a mix of solo and group play with improved bosses and standardized difficulty.
- All dungeons can be played in normal and veteran mode, where story is separated from difficulty and players are battle-leveled to allow players of different levels to play together, and receive level-appropriate loot.
- The massive Craglorn zone has been redesigned to make it solo-friendly but still the go-to location for group content.
- Loot in zones has now been standardized like dungeon loot, making it possible to acquire specific sets in specific zones at whatever level you are when completing quests.
Trip of a Lifetime Giveaway
To celebrate the newfound freedom of One Tamriel, Bethesda Softworks has launched the One Tamriel Trip of a Lifetime giveaway. We’ll be giving away five once-in-a-lifetime grand prize trips to exotic locations across the world inspired by iconic in-game locations. And since One Tamriel is also all about playing together, each prize package is a trip for two, including meals, accommodations, and incredible excursions led by local guides and experts.
