DreadXP, a renowned indie horror games publisher, and developer TheClassifiedX has announced the upcoming release of The Outsiders, a survival horror game set in the synth-soaked 1980s. The game will be available on Windows PC and is set to feature both asymmetric multiplayer and episodic single-player modes.
The premise of The Outsiders revolves around a twisted game show in which “Contestants” must face death-defying trials orchestrated by a mysterious Game Master. The game offers two main modes upon launch into Steam Early Access: The Human Show and The Origin.
The Human Show is an asymmetric multiplayer co-op mode for two to five players, in which they play as unwilling Contestants in a high-stakes, life-or-death game show. One player assumes the role of the Game Master, who is responsible for scaring, ensnaring, and modifying the map to make it more dangerous. Contestants must work together to solve puzzles, avoid traps, and overcome a variety of horrific otherworldly creatures in their pursuit of the Game Master. The Outsiders’ multiplayer mode includes three initial maps, each acting as an episode of The Human Show, with plans to expand the number of puzzles and maps during its time in Steam Early Access.
The Origin serves as the first chapter of The Outsiders’ single-player campaign, telling an evolving horror story about the Human Show and the contestants trying to survive it. The campaign will be updated periodically with new chapters that expand on the story throughout Steam Early Access, offering players new lore, scares, and a touch of ’80s nostalgia.

Originally developed as a micro-game in the Dread X Collection, The Outsiders has been significantly expanded for its standalone release. The game will launch as feature-complete in Early Access, with plans to add new content to both game modes and a third mode, The Hunt, upon exiting Early Access.
The Outsiders is set to be released on Windows PC via Steam Early Access in the near future, providing players with an immersive, synth-infused survival horror experience.
