Iam8bit announces a collaboration with Nintendo, Illumination, and Universal Pictures to release The Super Mario Bros. Movie soundtrack in various physical formats, including vinyl records, CDs, and cassette tapes. The soundtrack, composed by Koji Kondo and Brian Tyler, is available digitally from Back Lot Music starting April 7th, while the film is in theaters now.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie soundtrack pays homage to the iconic 8-bit era and features 36 tracks from the film, including Bowser’s piano ballad “Peaches” and all-new Mario art. Iam8bit has meticulously designed every detail of the 2xLP, from the gatefold jacket showcasing Illumination’s artwork to the record sleeves displaying familiar Super Mario Bros. icons. The album ($41.99) is pressed on red and green records, with an exclusive pink and yellow colorway available only on iam8bit.com.
The CD release ($19.99) includes the complete movie soundtrack on 2 discs in a premium four-panel package. For those who prefer a nostalgic touch, the cassette edition ($19.99) offers the entire soundtrack on a cassette tape, available in randomly distributed red or green colorways. A special 7″ single ($12.99) featuring Bowser’s “Peaches” on the A side and the “Mario Brothers Rap” on the B side is also available for pre-order.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie soundtrack albums and 7″ single can be pre-ordered now on iam8bit.com, with shipping expected in Q3 2023.
