Asylum Square, a German indie studio, and Gameforge’s new indie publishing label IndieForge have released a new gameplay trailer for the retro-inspired 2D action platformer Tiny Thor. The game allows players to control the alliterative hero and wield the mighty power of mini-Mjölnir.
In Tiny Thor, players can declare “hammer time” on the game’s enemies by utilizing Mjölnir’s bouncy capabilities to perform impressive trickshots. The hammer can be thrown against the map to take out enemies in increasingly creative ways. Players also have the ability to freely aim the hammer, granting them additional control over its ricochets and encouraging them to get imaginative.
The tiny protagonist’s abilities extend beyond combat, as the hammer can be used to solve clever puzzles encountered throughout the hand-drawn world. The game’s pixel art is crafted by artists Henk Nieborg (known for Spyro: A Hero’s Tail, Contra 4, and the Shantae series) and Nauris Amatnieks.
Tiny Thor is set to launch on Windows PC via Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch this summer. Fans can currently wishlist the game and enjoy a free demo on Steam.
