Ziggurat Interactive, a renowned name in the realm of both retro and modern gaming, has dropped some epic news today for fans eagerly awaiting the release of Slave Zero X. This much-anticipated biopunk character action slasher, set to hit both PC and consoles, has a release date locked in for February 21, 2024. But that’s not the only big reveal they had in store.

Elizabeth Maxwell: From Hyrule to a Dystopian Future

In a casting move that’s got the gaming community buzzing, Elizabeth Maxwell, a voice acting powerhouse known for her roles in major titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Attack on Titan, is joining the Slave Zero X squad. She’s lending her voice to “X,” a key character in the game’s ruthless and unforgiving dystopia, which shares its universe with the original 1999 classic, Slave Zero.

Maxwell’s Versatility Elevates X’s Character

Elizabeth Maxwell isn’t just another name in the gaming and animation industries; she’s a legend. Her vast range of talents is set to elevate the character of X, a biosuit that’s pivotal in the game’s narrative. This brutal hack-and-slash title features X, the biosuit wielded by Shou, the game’s protagonist.

The Tale of X: From Defective to Destructive

X’s backstory is as intriguing as it is dark. Created by the SovKhan for his notorious “Slave” project, X is a Prototype Biomech Embryo, unique for showing early signs of self-awareness and sentience. Deemed “defective” for possessing a will of her own and discarded by the SovKhan, X was labeled with an “X” and thrown away by Dark Matter scientists. But fate had other plans. Found by the Guardians beneath the decaying foundations of the Megacity, X merges with Shou, the strongest Guardian. Together, they seek vengeance against the tyrant ruling the Megacity, their shared desire for retribution making them an unstoppable force.
