Catch the Wave of Early Access on 16 August 2023
Ankama, the creators of popular MMO titles such as Dofus and Wakfu, opens the door for players to explore their newest free-to-play multiplayer tactical RPG, WAVEN. The early access is now live on Steam and Ankama’s launcher, offering a cross-play experience for Windows PCs, Macs, and later this year, iOS and Android.
New Gameplay Trailer Unveiled
To mark the launch, Ankama released a gameplay trailer, providing adventurers a taste of what awaits them in the WAVEN world. This trailer paints a vivid picture of a flooded world where only a few islands have survived, and seafaring adventurers can embark on a great saga to discover wealth and glory.
More than Just an Adventure: 250 Quests, 17 Destinations, 25 Heroes, and More
The early access kickstarts with a narrative prologue, leading players into a thrilling adventure with over 250 quests to tackle, 17 destinations to visit, 25 heroes to discover, 90 companions to collect, and 300 spells to equip. PvP battles in the arena and cooperative play with friends add to the immersive experience.
From Alpha to Early Access: The Road to the Final Launch
Following several open alphas and a demo version that generated valuable community feedback, the WAVEN early access stands as a decisive step before the definitive game launch. Ankama is keen to receive player feedback to refine the WAVEN experience and make it a truly unique adventure.
Exclusive Cosmetics and Season Passes
Three Founder’s Packs, offering exclusive cosmetics, are available for purchase as the game is released. Players can further customize their progression with free season passes and two paid passes, Gold and Platinum, offering additional rewards for completing in-game challenges. A special FX cosmetic – a halo world visual – will also be available during the early access.
Final Release Date and Platforms
WAVEN’s early access begins on August 16th 2023 for Windows PC and Mac. The game will launch in its final version at the end of 2023 on Windows PC, Mac, and iOS and Android mobile and tablet versions.
