Apple Arcade Highlights

Apple is getting serious about the gaming business by starting its very own gaming service called “Apple Arcade.” During the Apple’s Keynote Event for March 2019, Apple announced multiple highlights — from Apple TV+, to Apple Card, and then, most importantly, Apple Arcade. What exactly does Apple Arcade have to offer to compete against the likes of Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation, or even the upcoming Google Stadia?

The Apple Arcade gaming service allows users to pay a monthly subscription fee to get access to a wide variety of premium games. Unfortunately, there were no details as to how much this service is going to cost. This subscription will allow access for Family Sharing, giving access for up to six family members. The whole family will be able to play any of the provided games (anticipating around 100 releases when the service is launched) made from some of the big name companies like SEGA, Cartoon Network, LEGO, and many more. Apple is also teaming up with indie developers to bring their unique ideas and gameplay to Apple devices. Be sure to check-out the list below to see some of the games that will be available in Apple Arcade.

While playing or accessing the Apple Arcade games, you won’t have to worry about any ads or ad tracking so user privacy is protected. Since Apple Arcade is a subscription-based program, there’s no need to worry about any additional in-app purchases or even paying to unlock other content in the games you’re playing. The games you’ll be able to access will be available for download and played offline (no LTE or WiFi connection are necessary when playing).

Apple Arcade will work on Apple-supported devices such as the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Macs. It will also support “Made for iPhone” game controllers so you won’t be locked to just using the touch screen. The games you’re playing will cross-platform across Apple devices; that means you are able to start a game on one device and then continue to another without losing your place (i.e. playing on a Mac and then continuing on your iPhone will be such a breeze).

Apple is planning to launch the Apple Arcade during the Fall 2019 in more than 150 countries. If you have access to the Apple App Store, it’s most likely you’ll have access to Apple Arcade. Does this spark anyone’s interest to game on the go or even game on mobile devices? Do any of the games below entice you give the service a shot? We will know once more details are released from Apple.
