Annual Showdown Returns with New Twists and Rewards
Destiny 2 fans, mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 5, as the Guardian Games All-Stars event is set to return. This annual competitive fixture pits Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks against each other over a three-week period, striving not just for individual glory but for the honor of having their class represented with a statue in the Tower for the year.
Upgraded Competition
This year’s Guardian Games introduces an enhanced scoring system to elevate the competition. A notable addition is the Focus Activities, designed to offer time-limited boosts, enabling players to earn extra Medallions for their class. Furthermore, the introduction of the Contender Card brings new dynamics into play, featuring Diamond Medallions for weekly extra points, the Champion Memento, and Ascendant Alloy, adding layers of strategy to the event.
Exclusive Rewards
A highlight of the event is the unveiling of the Allstar Vector Skimmer, Destiny 2’s inaugural hoverboard, available to all players at no extra cost. This new mode of transport not only offers a stylish way to traverse the solar system but also introduces unique tricks and rail grinding capabilities. By participating in the event, players can permanently add this vehicle to their collection.
Completing Event Card challenges unlocks a range of rewards, including the new Compressed Wave Frame Grenade Launcher, Hullabaloo, and an exotic Ghost Shell, among others. Upgrading the Event Card further expands the reward pool. A noteworthy milestone is the Gold Event Challenge, which, upon completion by March 26, 2024, grants eligibility for a physical 2024 Guardian Games All-Stars Medal purchase from the Bungie Store.
Guardian Games Cup and Charitable Endeavors
The Guardian Games Cup, now in its third iteration, invites players worldwide to form teams of six and vie for top honors in two distinct categories: Technical, based on Medallions dunked, and Charitable, tracking the total funds raised for Direct Relief and the International Rescue Committee via the Bungie Foundation. Prizes range from life-size Allstar Vector Skimmer replicas for first-place teams to Bungie Store discounts for the top four teams in each category. Additionally, donations of $10 or more are rewarded with the Together in Contribution emblem, with each subsequent $10 donation providing an additional emblem.
