MUMO Studio’s upcoming survival deception game, DUBIUM, is now in its final public beta test. The game features an intriguing 5-player asymmetrical co-op experience set in a sci-fi universe where players must escape from an abandoned space station while avoiding sabotage by traitors. The final beta test adds several new gameplay mechanics, including a comprehensive in-game tutorial, a gadget workshop, and a character growth system with daily missions and rewards.
MUMO Studio listened to the feedback from their 2022 closed beta test and implemented several new features in the final beta. The Frontier Training Center now provides a full tutorial level where players can learn the basics of the game under the guidance of the sassy Space Frontier Operator, Kerstin. Players can also watch guide videos to learn advanced gameplay elements. In addition, the beta adds a mission progress bar, a mini-game for solar panel repair, new weapon variations, a Gadget Workshop, and balancing for character gadgets, game mechanics, and controls.
One of the key new features in the final beta is a character growth system with daily missions that offer small goals for players to achieve while playing. Rewards consist of in-game currency, cosmetics, and an opportunity to unlock additional character perks. The system allows players to level up as they progress through the game, but to gain significant rewards, they must survive and escape from the space station, which is no easy task.
DUBIUM’s final beta test is available now on the game’s Steam page, allowing players to explore the game’s universe of fun and treachery until April 10th, 2023. The game is set to release in Steam Early Access later this year.
