he digital worlds of Fortnite and Jujutsu Kaisen are intertwining as the “Break the Curse!” update has been announced for Fortnite Battle Royale V25.30.

The Invasion of Cursed Energy

Cursed energy, a notable theme in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, has seeped into the Battle Royale Island. Players can harness this power as they embark on the “Break the Curse!” challenges until August 25th, 2023, at 2 AM ET.

Tapping into Cursed Techniques

Llamas, a familiar element in Fortnite, now bear curses. By defeating these Cursed Llamas, players can learn two unique cursed techniques: the Straw Doll Technique and Hollow Technique: Purple. The former launches nail projectiles imbued with cursed energy, while the latter clears structures in its wake and damages opponents over time.

Engaging in “Break the Curse!” Quests

Players are encouraged to engage in various “Break the Curse!” Quests, both on the Battle Royale Island and in creator-made islands. By amassing Cursed Energy, players can earn in-game rewards. These include 11 potential rewards on the free track with the Shadow Play: Toad Emote being the pinnacle prize.

For those seeking additional items, a Premium Reward Track, priced at 1,000 V-Bucks, offers another 11 rewards. The Streetwear Yuji Itadori Outfit is immediately accessible upon purchase, with the traditional Yuji Itadori Outfit being the ultimate prize.

Climbing the Jujutsu High Ladder

Players can embark on quests patterned after Jujutsu High’s grading system, starting from Grade 4 and culminating in Special Grade. These grade-specific quests are time-released and will run until the update’s end on August 25th.

Competing in the Jujutsu Kaisen Cup

On August 11th, players can participate in the Jujutsu Kaisen Cup, a Duos Zero Build tournament. Competitors have the chance to earn emotes and sprays like the Good Boy Kon Emoticon and Gojo’s Eye Emoticon. Scoring in the competition is based on match placement, eliminations, and achieving specific in-match objectives. Players are limited to ten matches within their regional time window.

Introducing Jujutsu High Characters

Fortnite’s Item Shop has added Outfits for Jujutsu Kaisen’s main characters: Megumi Fushiguro, described as a second-class Sorcerer prodigy; Nobara Kugisaki, a Sorcerer with roots in the countryside; and Satoru Gojo, touted as the most potent contemporary Sorcerer.

Tournament Specifications

For balance, certain elements introduced in the update, like the Cursed Llamas and the new cursed techniques, won’t be present in tournaments, barring the Jujutsu Kaisen Cup.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

The developers addressed some bugs with this update, such as a glitch affecting render distance since v25.20. Another issue, where players might see their Ranked Battle Royale rank even after transitioning to Ranked Zero Build, has also been resolved.

Note: Some items from the “Break the Curse!” event might appear in the Item Shop at a future date.

For further details on the Jujutsu Kaisen Cup, including eligibility and official rules, players are encouraged to refer to the official Fortnite platform.
