This week, the spotlight is on LEGO Fortnite’s crafting update, Rocket Racing’s new mode, and the commencement of Fortnite Festival Season 2. Here’s a breakdown of what’s new in each segment.

LEGO Fortnite Introduces Crafting and Fishing

Starting February 22, LEGO Fortnite players can engage in a new crafting activity with the “Gone Fishin'” update. This addition allows players to craft a Fishing Rod for catching various fish types, such as Green Floppers, Silver Thermal Fish, Cuddle Jelly Fish, and more. The catchable fish types depend on factors like biome, water characteristics, weather, and time of day. Furthermore, new tools including the Spyglass and Compass have been introduced to enhance exploration and navigation. The community’s creativity is highlighted with their constructions, including working planes and elaborate LEGO towns.

Rocket Racing Expands with Speed Run Mode

Also on February 22, Rocket Racing unveiled an all-new “Speed Run” mode. This mode challenges players to achieve the fastest lap times in both public and private matches, with collisions disabled for multiplayer sessions. It introduces season and friends leaderboards, allowing competitors to measure their performance against others globally. Additionally, the Diestro Car Body has been added to the game, available as part of the Diestro Car Bundle. Players owning Diestro in Rocket League will find it in their Fortnite Locker, thanks to cross-game ownership features.

Fortnite Festival Season 2: Unlock Your Talent

Fortnite Festival enters its second season on February 22, featuring pop icon Lady Gaga. Running until April 22, 2024, this season includes the “Unlock Your Talent Festival Pass” which offers new Instruments, Jam Tracks, and other content. The pass includes a free reward track and a Premium Reward Track upgrade, with exclusive Lady Gaga-themed instruments and the Enigmatic Gaga Outfit among the unlockable items.
