Introduction to a Long-Awaited Character
Gearbox Publishing and Abstraction Games have unveiled a Hero Spotlight trailer featuring Roland, a new character set to debut in Gigantic: Rampage Edition. This introduction marks Roland’s first appearance as a playable character in the game, scheduled for release on April 9 across various platforms including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Roland’s Gameplay Mechanics and Background
Roland, a ranged DPS character, uses a blunderbuss and various gadgets to engage enemies. Despite losing an arm, he compensates with a grappling hook that enhances his mobility, allowing him to maneuver across the battlefield effectively. Equipped with a drone and entangling bolas, Roland can inflict significant damage and control the field by trapping opponents.
Originally conceived for the initial version of Gigantic by Motiga in 2014, Roland was featured in early pre-alpha tests but was not included in the final game. Abstraction Games has since revived Roland for Gigantic: Rampage Edition, fulfilling the community’s anticipation.
Gigantic: Rampage Edition Features
Gigantic: Rampage Edition represents an enhanced version of the original 5v5 MOBA Hero Shooter, Gigantic. It offers a team-oriented multiplayer experience, allowing players to select from a variety of heroes with unique abilities. The game challenges teams to capture objectives and defeat the enemy Guardian while safeguarding their own. This edition introduces a new game mode, cross-platform play, additional heroes, new maps, and various gameplay enhancements. Priced at $19.99, it aims to deliver an expanded and more comprehensive Gigantic experience when it launches on April 9, 2024.
