Skybound Tabletop Unveils Deduction Game Based on Popular Comic Series
Skybound Tabletop recently announced the retail availability of Invincible: Escape from Mars, a new addition to the superhero game genre. This deduction-based game draws inspiration from the acclaimed comic book series Invincible by Robert Kirkman, Corey Walker, and Ryan Ottley. Now accessible in stores, including Barnes and Noble, the game release coincides with the airing of the second part of the second season of Invincible on Prime Video, which has received a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Gameplay Mechanics and Design
Invincible: Escape from Mars is crafted for 4-10 players who assume the roles of the Guardians of the Globe. The game challenges players to work together to ensure civilians’ safe return home from Mars, all while preventing the infiltration of Sequids, alien parasites capable of infecting anyone at any moment. The key to victory lies in identifying infected teammates and securing passage on the rocket to escape Mars. The game was designed by Whitney Loraine, Joshua Camden, and Patrick Logan, offering engaging gameplay that emphasizes social deduction and strategy.

The Invincible comic book series, created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker, debuted in 2003 and achieved significant acclaim, running for fifteen years and 144 issues under Image Comics. It also inspired several spin-off series and an adult animated series on Prime Video, noted for its unique storytelling approach. The animated series’ first part of season 2 premiered on November 3, 2023, quickly becoming one of Prime Video’s top shows.
