Team17 and Warpzone Studios have today launched the Automation Update for dwarven colony simulator Hammerting, which is currently in Early Access on Steam, Epic Game Store, and GOG. The update streamlines several features in Hammerting and makes it more efficient to build the most prosperous mining colony in the Mountains of Mara; carts will now pick up and deliver items just like their dwarven counterparts; dwarves will automatically equip the best version of an item they have in their tool belt and will deposit unassigned carried items for future use, and vaults can now be built and used to store varying amounts of gold.
The update also introduces a win state to Hammerting, triggered by in-game quest players will be challenged to prove their dwarven mining prowess by completing exigent labor– upon completion players will still be able to continue their colony and remain nestled away in the mountains for as long as they choose.
