Introduction to the Expansion
Astragon Entertainment and Aesir Interactive have unveiled the Highway Patrol Expansion for Police Simulator: Patrol Officers, scheduled for a Summer 2024 launch. This expansion takes players out of the city and onto the highway, expanding the game’s map to include the Brighton highway district. It introduces new gameplay elements such as high-speed monitoring, cargo inspections, and highway assistance. Additionally, players will encounter an increase in car thefts, leading to high-speed chases and the use of new tools like spike strips and roadblocks.
Enhanced Gameplay and Multiplayer Experience
The expansion brings additional gameplay mechanics, particularly in dealing with highway scenarios. Players will need to manage increased car theft incidents and respond to accidents, which may involve extinguishing fires. The introduction of new equipment like spike strips and roadblocks enriches the tactical aspect of pursuits, especially in multiplayer mode, where coordination becomes key to halting criminal activities effectively.
New Vehicles and Tools
To aid in these new tasks, the expansion includes two new vehicles. The Interstate Police Vehicle offers a classic design for patrolling, while the Endurance Police Vehicle features a heavy-duty mechanism designed for stopping high-speed criminals. These additions are tailored to enhance the patrol experience on the highways, providing players with the necessary tools to handle the expanded challenges.
Gold Edition Announcement
In conjunction with the expansion, the Gold Edition of Police Simulator: Patrol Officers will be released. This comprehensive package includes the original game, the Garage Bundle, and the newly announced Highway Patrol Expansion. Targeted for the same Summer 2024 release, it aims to offer new players a complete experience of the game’s expanded universe.
