Ziggurat Interactive is set to release the Megafortress Collection, a compilation of a classic flight simulation game and its two expansions, on Steam and GOG. This Retro First release includes the original Megafortress game, as well as the Operation Sledgehammer and Operation Skymaster expansions, offering players a comprehensive and immersive aerial combat experience.
In the Megafortress Collection, players take control of an experimental B-52 bomber that boasts near-invisibility, tasked with the mission of destroying heavily fortified enemy installations. The game requires players to assume various roles, such as Pilot, Navigator, Electronic Warfare Officer, and Offensive Weapons Officer, engaging in strategic air assaults across historic battlefronts around the world.
The collection’s two expansions, Operation Sledgehammer, and Operation Skymaster, further enhance the gameplay experience by adding a total of 46 new missions across the globe. These missions introduce new enemy targets, including terrorist training camps, chemical weapons facilities, nuclear research plants, amphibious vessels, and ships. The expansions also provide players with new weapons, such as the CBU-95 FAE and Penguin MK 3 anti-ship missile, as well as new enemy defenses like the Chinese HQ-61 SAM system.
