Tsukuyomi: New Weapons, Armor Set, and Serial Hunt Quests Arrive in Azuma

Tsukuyomi: New Weapons and Armor Set

In the latest content update, a formidable new Kemono known as Tsukuyomi has made its presence felt at Fuyufusagi Fort. This light-devouring creature poses a significant challenge to hunters in Azuma. To face this tyrannical territory seeker, hunters must bring all their skills and knowledge to bear.

The Mysterious Tsukuyomi

Tsukuyomi, ominously dubbed the “Specter of the Eclipse,” raises questions about its origins and abilities. Does it hide the sun behind the moon, or does it have the power to consume light itself? Surprisingly, Tsukuyomi does not feed on Celestial Thread like other Kemono. Instead, it sustains itself by absorbing rays of sunlight. This unique trait poses a threat to both Kemono and mankind, as few creatures can survive without the vital energy of the sun.

The Tsukuyomi harnesses the absorbed light to fuel its devastating attacks. Hunters should be vigilant and take note when the creature begins gathering energy. A well-timed strike with a Pounder, Firework, or similar Karakuri can interrupt its energy build-up. Exploiting this vulnerability is crucial, as Tsukuyomi displays exceptional resistance to physical strikes. Hunters are advised to augment their attacks with elemental means for maximum effectiveness.

New Serial Hunt Quests

Alongside the arrival of Tsukuyomi, four new Serial Hunt quests have been introduced to the Side Stories section of the Main Map. These quests exclusively feature Mighty and Volatile Kemono, promising a formidable challenge for hunters. It is essential to be prepared for a grueling test of skill and perseverance.

For those unfamiliar with Serial Hunts, here’s a quick refresher on how they work: Each Serial Hunt requires hunters to face a succession of Kemono within a specific time frame. While brief intervals for gathering oneself are allowed between hunts, hunters cannot rely on healing water wells for recovery. Successfully defeating each target increases the rewards, but failure at any stage results in no reward. Hunters may choose to end the hunt prematurely to secure the promised rewards attained up to that point.

Additionally, completing all targets in a single run of the Serial Hunt will unlock new Chat Stamps and Emotes as an additional reward.

Dolby Atmos & DTS:X: An Immersive Audio Experience

While previously introduced, the incorporation of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio options in the game deserves special mention. These advanced audio technologies enhance the three-dimensional surround sound experience within the world of Azuma, fully immersing players in each hunt.

Enabling Dolby Atmos and DTS:X introduces transcendent moments, such as:

  1. Majestic Kemono Roars: The roars of Giant Kemono, accompanied by the sounds of squealing plants and minerals within their bodies, as well as the flapping of wings from aerial Kemono soaring above, become more vivid and three-dimensional. This enhancement amplifies the sense of enormity each Kemono possesses.
  2. Firework Explosions: The mechanics of Fireworks become tangible as players can feel the impact deep in their bones, even if the detonations occur outside their field of vision.
  3. Nature’s Symphony: Native Japanese birds chirping and insects buzzing around contribute to the realism, transporting players to the vivid world of Japan’s four seasons.

In the creation of the game’s music, several talented composers have left their mark:

  • Masashi Hamauzu-san: Hamauzu-san’s beautiful compositions capture the majestic nature of WILD HEARTS. From the title screen to Minato’s bustling hub, Deathstalker’s hunt, and various BGMs during exploration, the music blends seamlessly with the surrounding nature of Azuma.
  • Daisuke Shinoda-san: Shinoda-san’s powerful Japanese-style orchestra adds excitement to the Lavaback, Golden Tempest, Sporetail, Ripclaw, and Murakumo hunts, as well as encounters with the Deeply Volatile Kemono.

Combined with the powerful Japanese-style sounds created by Koei Tecmo’s composers, including Junya Ishiguro, Ippo Igarashi, and Modanqing Zhu, the game’s music showcases a vibrant world brought to life by the splendid performances of a magnificent orchestra, Japanese instrument players, and talented singers.
