Visage Gets New Chapter and More

As a longtime fan of horror movies and horror games,  when a new game of that style hits the market, I am usually all over it … buying it, watching it, or playing it, and hoping to be scared while having a wonderful time. One of the most difficult forms of horror to create is psychological as that form of horror has people react differently — some may react scared and others may not. Red Barrel’s Outlast 2 is a perfect example of this. However, SadSquare Studios own game, Visage, has been able to stand its ground as a psychological game that is scaring everyone who has played it so far. Only one chapter of the game is currently available to the public on Steam via early access, and they recently announced that the next chapter is releasing next week as stated below:

“Hi, there wonderful people,

We’re finally ready to get the next chapter in your hands!

On July 3rd, we’ll be releasing a whole new chapter in Early Access. This chapter will bring another four to six hours of terrifying gameplay to the game.

This chapter is the final step before the full release. No more content will be made available in the Early Access (except fixes and gameplay changes). We’ll be releasing more information about development, rewards, and all that good stuff next week.”

As stated above, this will be the final chapter released in Early Access on Steam so the team behind the game is chugging along to see that the game gets finished on time as their goal isn’t just to release the game on PC — they want to release the game on other platforms like PS4 and PSVR. To do that, the company will have to stop releasing the game in early access via chapters and work on releasing the full game afterward (which is what they are doing) as not many other studios have done that since they will usually release it chapter after chapter.

For this small independent studio to work as hard as they are, you have to show them a level of respect as they want to get this game done … and done right. With people waiting in anticipation over on Steam for this next chapter and the rest waiting for the full game, the team at SadSquare have a lot of work ahead of them. But if I had to give them any advice, it’s this: Keep at it! What you are making is something special for fans of this genre and, as I can tell, you are fans as well, even going so far to pay tribute to Silent Hill 4: The Room in your game. Stay the course because whatever you are doing is working, and thousands of horror game fans are looking to more from you.

SadSquare Studios’ Visage is out now in Early Access on Steam and will be releasing on PS4, PSVR, and Xbox One once the game fully releases on Steam in either late 2019 or 2020 (probably 2020 though).
