Sharpen your blades, gamers! Ziggurat Interactive, the publisher renowned for delivering retro and modern games, has revealed two more voice talents joining the brutal side-scrolling slasher, Slave Zero X. The voice roster, already filled with talent, is welcoming Michael Schwalbe and Shelby Young. They will each voice a single head of Regent, an ancient two-headed mastermind known for manipulation mastery. Slave Zero X, developed in collaboration with Poppy Works and the team behind Devil Engine, is the blood-drenched sequel to Slave Zero (1999).

Meet the Voices Behind Regent

Michael Schwalbe — Regent (Male):

Residing in Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Schwalbe is a director, writer, voice actor, and singer. Often hailed as a “vocal chameleon”, his credits include roles in hit animes like Kawaki (Boruto), and top-tier video games such as Balrog (Devil May Cry 5), Combine Charger (Half Life Alyx), and Scoppy Banoopy (Bugsnax).

Shelby Young — Regent (Female):

Shelby Young, an actor based in Los Angeles, boasts an extensive portfolio in voice-over, voice-matching, motion capture, and on-camera work. She’s recognized for voice work as Kuld (God of War Ragnarok), Princess Leia (Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga), and has an on-screen presence with roles like Leah from the Emmy-winning American Horror Story.

These remarkable artists are lending their skills to breathe life into the fourth member of the Five Calamities: The Regent. Also known as “Wuguan”, The Regent is one of the innermost generals answering only to the Sovereign Khan. The Regent’s existence now resides in an artificial body, portraying a quintessential fascist viewing humans as exploitable livestock. Though lacking fearsome combat abilities like other generals, The Regent’s unmatched manipulation prowess serves him well.
