Canada’s Behaviour Interactive Opens New UK Studio in Truro, Cornwall

Behaviour’s Second UK Studio Represents Another Step in the Company’s European Expansion

Behaviour Interactive, the largest Canadian video game studio, has announced the opening of a new studio in Truro, Cornwall, in the South West United Kingdom. This expansion marks another milestone in Behaviour’s ongoing European expansion strategy.

Operating under the banner of Behaviour UK – South, the newly established studio comprises a talented team primarily composed of former employees of AntiMatter Games, a local developer whose parent company recently announced the closure of the studio.

“Many truly talented individuals have been undeservedly impacted by the economic challenges that have led to layoffs across the gaming industry,” stated Wayne Meazza, Executive Vice President of Behaviour’s Services division. “When we learned AntiMatter Games was closing, we jumped at the opportunity to accelerate our strategic expansion by adding the studio’s proven, experienced team. This represented a true win-win situation, particularly given how AntiMatter shared Behaviour’s well-established culture of collaborative ambition.”

Behaviour Interactive, founded in 1992, is a renowned Canadian gaming studio known for creating and supporting genre-defying titles. The company has achieved significant success with its original horror-action multiplayer game, Dead by Daylight™, and has developer credits on some of the world’s most beloved franchises. Since April 2022, Behaviour has undertaken an extensive expansion program beyond its Montreal base, establishing or acquiring studios in Toronto, Seattle, and the United Kingdom.

The opening of Behaviour UK – South follows the company’s acquisition of SockMonkey Studios in Middlesbrough, Teesside, in February 2023, which was subsequently renamed Behaviour UK – North. Both UK teams further enhance Behaviour’s industry-leading external development capabilities.

“We are thrilled that we can continue to pursue our passion for making games as part of the Behaviour team,” stated Rich Barham, AntiMatter Games’ former CEO, who will serve as the General Manager of Behaviour UK – South. “We feel very fortunate that we can maintain our home in beautiful Truro, and we look forward to welcoming new members to the team over the coming months and years.”

With the addition of the Truro-based studio, Behaviour Interactive solidifies its presence in the United Kingdom and expands its capacity to deliver high-quality games and support services to its global audience. The company’s ongoing European expansion demonstrates its commitment to strategic growth and collaboration within the gaming industry.
