CD PROJEKT RED’s Open Day Launches Promised Land Art Festival

CD PROJEKT RED Announces Open Day for Budding Artists and Creative Enthusiasts

As the highly anticipated Promised Land Art Festival draws near, CD PROJEKT RED has revealed an exciting precursor event, Open Day, designed to cater to budding artists and creative industry enthusiasts. The event, in collaboration with EC1 Łódź and the City of Łódź, promises to be a unique gathering of creative minds from around the world. Open Day will take place on September 2nd, preceding the main festival.

Empowering Artists’ Journey

Open Day aims to bridge the gap between seasoned industry professionals and emerging artists, providing a platform for them to connect, learn, and grow. The halls of the Łódź EC1 Conference Complex will be graced by incredible talent, offering attendees a rare opportunity to meet their idols and favorite artists, including members of CD PROJEKT RED.

A Helping Hand for Aspiring Artists

Paweł Mielniczuk, Art Director at CD PROJEKT RED and co-organizer of the Promised Land Art Festival, shared the motivation behind creating Open Day. “When starting their career in video games or other creative industries, artists often find themselves lost. They have issues with putting together a solid portfolio, preparing for job interviews, or simply don’t really know what they should be focusing on when it comes to developing their artistic skills. This is why we created Open Day.”

Mielniczuk further explained, “Open Day is an event where attendees can not only listen to experienced artists from around the industry talk about their journey and various topics related to art, but also consult their portfolios with veterans of the craft, including CD PROJEKT RED’s team of art directors, all of whom will gladly assist in guiding them toward where they need to be. If that’s something you’re interested in, make sure to drop by!”

A Diverse Array of Lectures

Open Day promises a rich lineup of lectures that encompass various aspects of digital and traditional art, video game development, and filmmaking. One notable speaker is Paweł Sasko, Quest Director at CD PROJEKT RED, renowned for his work on titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, including the critically acclaimed expansion, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Sasko expressed his excitement about the upcoming event, saying, “I’m incredibly excited to be hosting a lecture at this year’s Open Day and share some of the experience I gained from my years of work at CD PROJEKT RED with all those interested in quest design and crafting compelling, non-linear narratives.”

He added, “And perhaps even help shape someone’s future career! If you want to enjoy a deep dive into how we craft our tales, as well as what kind of challenges creating narratives for massive RPGs entails, I will have some advice and guidelines structured to be fairly universal, inspirational, and illustrated with game-specific examples.”

Embracing Cutting-Edge Technologies

Open Day will not only be a hub for knowledge-sharing but also an opportunity to witness and participate in activities showcasing cutting-edge tools and technologies used in the creative industry. Partners of the Promised Land Art Festival will be hosting these interactive sessions throughout the day.

Venue and Tickets

The historic Łódź EC1 Conference Complex, formerly known as the EC1 Łódź Power Plant, will set the stage for Open Day and the subsequent Promised Land Art Festival. This revitalized venue serves as the perfect backdrop, fostering creativity, inclusiveness, and accessibility.

Tickets for Promised Land Open Day are currently available for purchase on the EC1 Łódź website. All Promised Land Art Festival ticket holders can attend Open Day at no extra charge. For more information about both events, visit the official website.

A Festival with Historical and Cultural Significance

The Promised Land Art Festival is organized by CD PROJEKT RED and enjoys the support of the Łódź City Council, as part of the “600 Years of Łódź” (“600 lat Łodzi”) and “EC1 Łódź – The City of Culture” (“EC1 Łódź – Miasto Kultury”) promotional programs. The festival promises to be a celebration of art, creativity, and inspiration, drawing attendees from all walks of life.
