Gen.G Partners with NASCAR, Expanding Motorsports Presence in Esports

Global esports organization Gen.G has announced a new partnership with NASCAR, the sanctioning body of the number one form of motorsports in the United States. This collaboration aims to strengthen the connection between racing and gaming and expand Gen.G’s presence in the world of motorsports. As part of this partnership, Gen.G will be hosting an event called “The Pit Stop, powered by Mobil 1 and NASCAR” at the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Boston Major on July 8th.

The Pit Stop Watch Party at WBUR CitySpace

For fans who want to join the excitement but prefer a different setting, WBUR CitySpace located at 890 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston will host “The Pit Stop” watch party from noon to 5 pm ET. This event will provide comfortable seating, large screens for viewing, food, drinks, and various branded activations. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing RLCS team and Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing creators Demar “Dazerin” Williams, MJ “Widow” Austyn, and Nathan “Stanz” Stanz. Additionally, limited giveaway items will be available for attendees. The Pit Stop watch party is open to the public, free of charge. However, starting at 8 pm ET, the event will transition into an invite-only party.

Content Creation and NASCAR Race Experiences

As part of the partnership, Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing creators Dazerin and Stanz will attend NASCAR races throughout the season to produce content that showcases their experiences. They will explore the various activities surrounding a NASCAR race, providing insights into the true fan experience that is often unseen by viewers at home. This content will highlight the crossover between the racing and gaming communities at NASCAR races, showcasing the innovative experiences that NASCAR offers to its attendees.

Gen.G’s Expansion in Motorsports

Martin Kim, Head of Partnerships at Gen.G, expressed excitement about expanding Gen.G’s presence in the world of motorsports. Kim stated, “Ever since we joined Rocket League last year, we wanted to expand our presence with all things cars and motorsports, especially with the reception we had surrounding the success of both of our Rocket League teams and our partnership with Mobil 1. Gaming is a connector, and NASCAR shares in that belief. Together we can explore opportunities that resonate with all audiences and communities.”

Achievements of Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing and Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing Black Women’s Team

Since the establishment of the Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing and Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing Black Women’s team last year, they have achieved significant accomplishments. The Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing team emerged as the RLCS 2022-2023 Fall Major Champions and currently holds the top rank in the RLCS NA Standings. They have also qualified for the RLCS World Championship, which will take place in Dusseldorf, Germany, in August.

On the other hand, the Gen.G Mobil 1 Racing Black Women’s team secured victory at the Dreamhack Dallas Rocket Clash, the first international women’s Rocket League LAN tournament. They are currently ranked number one in North America Women’s Carball and have also qualified for the WCB World Championship in August.

NASCAR’s Commitment to Rocket League

This partnership further solidifies NASCAR’s commitment to the Rocket League community. Since 2021, NASCAR has released the NASCAR Fan Pass annually, engaging with the Rocket League community. Last year, NASCAR hosted collegiate Rocket League tournaments at its tracks and sponsored the NASCAR Rocket League 351.

Nick Rend, NASCAR Managing Director of Gaming and Esports, emphasized the belief that gaming bridges the gap between the virtual and real world, creating a deeper connection with the sport. Rend expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Gen.G and stated, “We are excited to continue our commitment to Rocket League with Gen.G by hosting The Pit Stop at RLCS Boston Major with them and Mobil 1. We also look forward to working with Gen.G to explore new opportunities for our fans to engage with NASCAR and showcase the sport to new audiences.”

Gen.G’s partnership with NASCAR marks another significant milestone in the world of esports and motorsports, bringing together the passionate communities of gaming and racing. The collaboration will provide fans with unique experiences and create a platform for innovation and growth in both industries.
