A previous peek at the Legion 7 Gen 7 Slim model revealed top-quality performance in an ultralight slim look. Now a chance to feel the power at its maximum with the full version of the Legion 7 Gen 7 gaming laptop. This laptop is marketed as a performance-first product powered by an AMD CPU and GPU. This specific model features an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX CPU, an AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT, 32GB of DDR5 Ram, a 16” WQXGA IPS display, 1TB PCIe SSD Gen 4, and a 1080p FHD webcam starting at $1899.99.

A step up from the Legion 7 Gen 7 Slim it now gets more room for better cooling but also uses the Coldfront 4.0 next-gen system. You can feel the difference instantly upon picking the unit up, it’s heavier and of course thicker. They have updated the design of the back exhaust vents by adding wider ports. It now features an anodized flat metal plate on the back which looks so badass. This model does not feature any RGB lighting on the case, even simple white backlighting on the keyboard is missing which is a bit disappointing (Can be upgraded at purchase). Aside from this, it holds to the Legion name sporting a storm grey sleek minimalist stealth look.

Expect more options for ports with the full-size case. On the left panel, you will find a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 and a USB-C 4. On your right side, there will be a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1, an e-Shutter switch, and the headphone/mic combo jack. Holding up the rear panel will be two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (1 x always on), a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (DisplayPort 1.4, 135W power delivery), an HDMI 2.1 port, an ethernet RJ45 port, and power input. Expected out of a model like this we welcome a 1080p FHD webcam with e-shutter that allows you to block camera visibility for security. Blast your music aloud with its two 2W Harman Super Linear Speaker System Smart Amp with Nahimic Audio technology. I do have one question though, where is the Thunderbolt 4 port?

This model will rock the same processor as the slim with the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX Processor clocking in at 3.30 GHz, up to 4.90 GHz Max Boost, 8 Cores, 16 Threads, and 16 MB Cache). Its gaming power comes from the AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT GPU sporting 12GB GDDR6 and AMD RDNA 2 (Up to 2275Mhz Game Clock). This pushes a 16” WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS anti-glare display which statistics include 500 nits, a 16:10 aspect ratio, 165Hz (3ms response time), 100% sRGB, up to VESA Display HDR 400 Certified, Dolby Vision support, AMD FreeSync Premium, and TÜV Rheinland certified. What does all this mean? Let’s find out using the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla benchmark test on ULTRA settings.

Super impressed with these results! Peaking at almost 186 frames per second with over half of the GPU memory still available during the benchmark test. Due to these excellent results, we didn’t test on any lower settings. The Legion 7 Gen 7 AMD performance was smooth as butter under the stress of a massively graphical hungry open world triple A title. This gaming laptop is an absolute pumper! Expect all the latest in greatest extras like WiFi 6E 802.11AX (2 x 2) and Bluetooth 5.0 or above. More upgrades are always available by adding them directly on the Legion website at the time of purchase. Enjoy Legion’s stellar 24/7 customer support and extended warranties to prolong your laptop’s lifespan. This is a gamers laptop, are you willing to spend to get it?
