Marvel Contest of Champions Introduces New Combatants: Photon and Vox

In a new twist to the ever-evolving storyline of the widely enjoyed mobile game, MARVEL Contest of Champions, developer Kabam is set to introduce two new contenders in the digital battlefield. These characters are none other than the light-manipulating superhero, Monica Rambeau, also known as Photon, and the Super-Inhuman adversary, Vox.

The Battle to Save the World Tree

As the Contest escalates, the game’s storyline sees the villainous forces gaining momentum. In response to the crisis, genius inventor Reed Richards and cosmic entity Galan are hastily working to plant a World Seed on Battleworld. They hope to cultivate a new World Tree, which is expected to generate a profusion of planets capable of quelling the world-devouring appetite of the formidable Galactus.

Simultaneously, Nova gathers a band of superheroes, among them Photon, to form a fresh iteration of the Nova Corps. This newly formed group’s primary objective is to lend much-needed aid to Reed and Galan in their monumental task.

The Kree’s Secret Weapon: Vox

The heroic plan, however, has not gone unnoticed. The Kree, an advanced militaristic alien race, have caught wind of the operation and have designs to claim the newborn World Tree for themselves. In their arsenal is Vox, their latest Super-Inhuman creation, which could potentially tip the balance in their favor.

A product of genetic engineering, each Vox is a terrifying combination of brainwashed Inhumans, equipped with an arsenal of their combined powers. More chilling still is their absence of humanity, making them impervious to persuasion, deception, or bribery. Their only aim is the cessation of their enemies’ existence.

Photon: The Energy Metamorph

Coming to their aid is Photon, a character with an intriguing backstory. Initially a harbor patrol officer in the Navy, Monica Rambeau underwent a radical transformation when she was exposed to extra-dimensional energy. This exposure granted her the ability to transform her body mass into any form of energy on the electromagnetic spectrum.

This newfound power propelled her into a series of adventures, leading the Avengers, facing off against Galactus, and even briefly assuming the mantle of Captain Marvel before it was taken by Carol Danvers. Over time, Rambeau adopted various names before finally settling on Photon.
