Comprehensive Revamp and New Features in Latest Game Update

SMITE’s newest update, titled ‘Netherbeasts’, rolls out today, introducing significant enhancements and content. This includes the return of the Domination game mode, revamped with structural improvements, the addition of nine cross-generation (Cross-Gen) skins, and a series of quality-of-life improvements for various Gods.

Revitalized Domination Mode

The Netherbeasts update marks the return of Domination, a fan-favorite point-capture mode in SMITE, now retooled for a better gaming experience. The mode features upgraded mechanics, including a revised scoring system and a more streamlined capturing process. Players must defeat a Sand Guardian to take control of capture points, with newly spawned Guardians then aiding the capturing team. Additionally, new Speed Orbs scattered across the map enhance the pace of the game, aiming to create a more dynamic and intuitive Domination experience.

Enhanced Gameplay for Gods

In this update, numerous Gods receive quality-of-life adjustments to refine gameplay. Changes range from comprehensive ability loop enhancements to specific functional additions, improving the overall feel of character control. Notable updates include Chiron’s ability to use Masterful Shot and basic attacks while charging, Heimdallr’s quicker action post-ultimate, Ymir’s unimpeded camera movement during abilities, Sobek’s ultimate allowing wall traversal, and Tiamat’s consistent respawn in Flying stance. These modifications are designed to enrich the player experience, with the development team keen on community feedback.

Cross-Gen Skins and Celebratory Events

The update introduces nine new Cross-Gen Skins, accessible in both SMITE and its upcoming sequel, SMITE 2. These skins are available through various means, including direct purchases and event-specific chests. The main Netherbeasts event offers three Cross-Gen Skins, with the Death’s Rain Chaac skin obtainable as a free bonus after a set number of purchases.

In addition to the Netherbeasts event, the Oni Slayer Cross-Gen Pass launches, featuring the Wandering Blade King Arthur skin as an instant reward. Players can unlock additional rewards by participating in SMITE games, leading up to the Dark Supreme Nu Wa skin.

Celebrating SMITE’s 11th year, the Community Celebration Event returns, allowing players to earn daily rewards, including a Cross-Gen Skin, by logging in and playing matches during the event period.

The Netherbeasts update, with its blend of gameplay improvements, new skins, and engaging events, aims to enhance the SMITE experience for both new and returning players.
